iOS 27 Sneak Peek: Siri’s New Look Before WWDC 2026

by | Jun 10, 2026 | Technology, Mobile Phone | 0 comments

Introduction

At WWDC (Worldwide Development Conference) every year, Apple unveils a large new set of iOS features that add tons of new functions to your iPhone, and we are just as certain to hear about iOS 27 at WWDC 2026. But, this year it is going to be big news. It not only marks the last Apple developers conference under the leadership of Tim Cook, but it’s also Apple’s debut for the Gemini-powered AI Siri.

Just like with every new iPhone and each iOS update, the iPhone 18 is going to have iOS 27. There is no word yet from Apple on its mobile operating system update, but there have been lots of leaks and reports about iOS 27 ahead of WWDC Monday, June 8. Now, you can find all the information on what iOS 27 is all about.

iOS 27: All about AI Siri

Perhaps the most significant change we know of for iOS 27 is the highly anticipated overhaul of Siri, Apple’s famous voice assistant, which will be powered by AI. It was supposed to happen two years ago and several class action lawsuits ago but it has been delayed in time. At the most fundamental level, this means that Siri is going to become what is essentially an AI Chatbot with its own standalone app (we assume) and the capacity to integrate the on-screen context and personal context into its replies.

The updated Siri is expected to handle tasks in different apps and widgets too. It’s mainly built on Google’s Gemini model, but there are whispers that users might have the option to utilize third-party models for Siri and other Apple Intelligence features, if that’s something they’re interested in.

Even though Siri’s getting its own app, it doesn’t look like the way you interact with it will change all that much. Like in previous updates, you’ll probably still wake Siri up by using a special phrase or by pressing the power button for Apple’s latest voice assistant feature. However, there will be a fresh interface that works with the Dynamic Island on the iPhone. You can swipe down from the top of the screen to ask a question, and if you swipe again, it’ll take you right to the new Siri chatbot interface.

Plus, the neon art, which is used to advertise WWDC, is a preview of Siri’s new appearance, Gurman noted. Apple’s been incorporating a dove theme in their WWDC promotions, and that might just be a nod to the Siri app logo.

There were also some details provided by Gurman related to Siri’s interaction with both the Photos and Camera applications. For example, Apple customers can finally look forward to some artificial intelligence photo editing capabilities available in all Android devices at this point.

It will also be possible to take a picture within the Camera application and automatically perform a reverse image search through Google’s service. Finally, there will be an integration of Visual Intelligence into the Camera application via the Siri mode, so that users would be able to do things like scanning their food labels and entering the data into the Health app, for instance.

All in all, it seems that Apple wants to make up for lost time in terms of developing an advanced AI chatbot that works right on their smartphones, and iOS 27 may well help them achieve that goal.

iOS 27: Other AI features

While Apple’s new iOS update may prioritize integrating Siri into the Apple Intelligence ecosystem, what about the existing Apple intelligence features present in iOS? Some of those are expected to be improved with iOS 27. A separate report by Mark Gurman stated that Image Playground and Genmoji will experience significant enhancements in image quality in iOS 27. Users can now design their own phone wallpapers with the help of AI.

It appears that Siri will enable users to create app shortcuts using natural language prompts, in addition to image generation. More AI juice is expected to be added to Writing Tools after that. It is purported to offer more effective feedback for syntax errors, not just basic spelling mistakes.

The effectiveness of it cannot be determined without considering the experience. Is there any news on the compatibility of Liquid Glass with iOS 27. Last year, the Liquid Glass design language, which was introduced in iOS 26, caused a stir among some people. Even so, you should not anticipate any significant alterations on that front. Once again, Gurman at Bloomberg provides this information. Apple has not proposed making any major alterations to Liquid Glass, which is quite surprising. However, Although the design language is not widely embraced by many, it does not appear to be a major obstacle for iPhone users.

Actually, it’s not so much; iPhone sales are performing better than ever. While Apple may be able to add more customization options to Liquid Glass, they have no plans to disable it or provide any other features. IOS 27: App changes. The upcoming release of iOS 27 will undoubtedly bring about some minor modifications to multiple first-party apps. We are still waiting for a full explanation of every change, but there are some interesting reports. Creating custom widgets in the Camera app will allow users to have more precise control over the appearance of certain buttons when they are first opened.

A “Conditions” panel is displayed on the page for a particular location, which means that weather is also present. There are options to switch between information panels on wind and rain.
