One can certainly enjoy numerous advantages by adopting a vegetarian diet, and there has been a growing awareness among individuals regarding the health benefits associated with vegetarianism. Animal rights issues is only one of the reasons why people decide to go on a vegetarian diet. The people are starting to become more environmentally conscious. However, the main reason why people go on vegetarian diet is because of health benefits.
Consuming meat may not be beneficial for your health, as it can hinder your cognitive clarity. This is especially apparent in the case of red meat, given that white meat has significantly lower fat content. Excessive intake of fats into your body can result in having a high level of cholesterol. Please don’t believe that if you are not eating meat you will look scrawny or unhealthy.
Suppose all these animals (cows, goats, gorillas, elephants, rhinos and others) are vegetarians (plant eaters) but look at the toughness of these animals, let alone the lifespan is longer than that of carnivores (meat eating animals).
Look at the chicken and vulture (carnivores): These eat anything and watch how those are unhealthily. Believing that the chi or life force of the body is diminished when eating meat, the Indians with their ancient yogic principles believed that their life force was called prana. Some of the masters were not vegetarians, but the great Tai Chi masters, were skilled in retaining their chi, even if they were not vegetarians. Now it has been scientifically proven that taking a balanced vegetarian diet is better than taking a diet with meat.

The Protein Myth
When people think about becoming a vegetarian there are many misconceptions, one of these is protein; many people believe that one can only find protein in meat. Vegetarians get a lot of protein, if they eat a variety of fruits, vegetables, grains and legumes. What vegetarians don’t understand is that this is excess protein which causes kidney overload and mineral deficiency diseases.
Many others also believe that a vegetarian diet is not a balanced diet. Vegetarian diets have a proportion of three macronutrients, which are complex carbohydrates, protein, and fat. Plants are generally higher sources of most micronutrients than are the food sources of vegetarians. The other myth that has to be dispelled is about the absence of calcium in vegetarians’ diet. A plentiful amount of calcium is found in many vegetables, particularly the green, leafy ones. The fact is that vegetarians don’t suffer from osteoporosis (a calcium deficiency that causes weak bones).
I don’t think I’m going to try to convince people to be vegetarians. However, vegetarianism is my answer to complete health and wholeness. There are three questions regarding vegetarianism: spiritual, mental and physical (nutritional).
The Spiritual Incentive
The person who wants to go up spiritually tries to work on himself/herself. The goal of spiritual growth is to leave behind the animal nature, and to enter into the more human nature God wished us to be. This is inhibited by meat eating. Once more, the same scientific inquiry that occasionally seeks to disregard the presence of a force transcending humanity has concurrently demonstrated, through laboratory experiments, that levels of aggression are significantly elevated in meat eaters than non-meat eaters.
Each time you eat meat, the animal instincts grow stronger. Another spiritual dimension of being a meat eater is the question of need, how, and what the nature of the karma is for the killing of animals. Everyone, however, has their own mores which they have to choose for themselves. I’m not trying to impose a certain moral action on anybody in my dissertation. Auras are believed by most spiritual individuals. Kirilian photography demonstrates that there is a force-field around dead or amputated tissue.
That animal aura is adopted when you consume a dead animal. Vibrational aura of fruits and vegetables is higher than that of animal products. But isn’t it about personal evolution that the spiritual candidate is concerned with. If it is then the eating of meat is definitely forbidden now.

Fear As Food
One of my favourite sayings to convey the mental dimension of vegetarianism is “You are what you eat”. As with humans, when animals are killed, fear and aggression enzymes are released into their cells from their glands and other organs and fall into the dead carcass to the food store. They are not removed from the meat until the consumer eats the meat containing the enzymes, and they are very similar in structure to human enzymes.
Fruits and vegetables lack emotions; consequently, when they are harvested, they do not emit any emotional cells before being digested. The enzymes in the fruits and vegetables provide ample nutrients to the body and will always keep the mind healthy. Fruits and vegetables are rich in nutrients – the very thing your body needs to maintain a long, disease and pain free life. This is not so with meat. The digestive system of humans is alkaline based and cannot digest significant amounts of acid, the most acidic being meat.
The Health Dangers Of Eating Meat
Colon cancer is increasingly common due to slow evacuation and meat decomposition in the colon, a condition rarely seen in non-meat eaters. Many mistakenly believe meat is the sole protein source, yet its low-quality, incomplete amino acid profile renders it less usable. Research shows Americans consume five times the needed protein, with excess causing kidney damage from uric acid, leading to nephritis.
Interestingly, a single serving of meat provides less usable protein than a tablespoon of tofu or soybeans. Meat can linger in the intestines for days or even months, often detectable in long-term vegetarians. Vegetarians report greater satisfaction from meals as vegetable protein produces fewer ketones.
High ketone levels can cause nausea and decreased appetite, leading to ketosis, a state similar to starvation. Many Americans consuming improper carbohydrates fail to recognize the need for complex carbs to address this. Excessive ketones can also result in acidosis. Unlike carnivores, humans have a less effective digestive system for meat, intensified by the complexity of the human intestine.
Putrid Food
Meats are kept frozen for extended periods. Some meat (particularly poultry meat) is frozen to the extent of two years. Not all bacteria will be eliminated by cold temperatures. Worse than this, as it is shipped and stored, most frozen meat is thawed and refrozen many times. This is virtually inevitable. When you have been feeling unwell, out of sorts, had diarrhea, or were just a little sick to your stomach, no doubt you had not the slightest idea that you had been poisoned by scavengers living off the dead carcass you just ate.

Other Vegetarian Virtues
Meat is costly and wasteful. Adopting a vegetarian diet opens up diverse, affordable, and nutritious culinary options across various cuisines. Many have only explored a fraction of available beans, legumes, and grains, often finding them appealing and versatile. My personal experience shows that vegetarianism promotes better health and well-being compared to a meat-based diet. I believe the benefits of vegetarianism significantly outweigh those of meat consumption.
